National Indigenous Peoples Day
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
One of our parents and community members, Chaslynn Gillanders, has put together this video for all in which she talks about the importance of Indigenous Peoples Day and also reads a story called The Great Festival of Light (author unknown) to celebrate and acknowledge Indigenous People.
She has graciously given us permission to share this with you so that you and your family can also celebrate and acknowledge National Indigenous Peoples Day.Thank you Chaslynn! Enjoy! https://youtu.be/6MEvZ-F7kxA
