National Indigenous Peoples Day - June 21

On June 21st, and throughout the month of June, students and staff at Gilmore will be celebrating and recognizing the heritage, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Some examples might include researching and learning about local Indigenous artists, deepening our understanding of the importance of Land acknowledgment, reading stories by Indigenous authors, and listening to songs and music by Indigenous musicians.

Thank you to Gilmore parent, Chaslynn Gillanders, for creating this video sharing about the signifiance of Indigenous Peoples Day with us. Chaslynn also shares a story, "The Great Festival of Light" in the video.
