Re-establishing School Shared Experiences
Our continued discussions with staff, students, parents and community members led to our School Story Inquiry Question:
HOW WILL A SENSE OF BELONGING FOR ALL HELP STUDENTS FEEL MORE SUCCESSFUL WITH THEIR LEARNING?
Based on our new found common thread of a "Sense of Belonging" a clear focus of ours became to re-establish Shared Experiences. As we re-established some traditions from the past and re-imagined and implemented others, it was clear to us that these experienced brought joy to staff and students and also allowed us to get to know each other on a deeper level. The feedback from staff and students was an indicator of how through COVID, these shared experience were dearly missed. Seeing students build relationships with students from other classes as well as with adults beyond the ones that directly worked with them was a welcomed outcome of re-estabishing these shared experiences.
