What are students saying?
As part of our inquiry process we asked a random sampling of students from each class questions from the spirals of inquiry - the model we are following for our inquiry into our school story journey. We wanted to collect some baseline data around how children see their own learning and their community. We also wanted to know if children feel cared for at school. When we talked with students, we recorded their answers by typing as they spoke, we didn't edit their words to stay as true as possible to their contributions. The questions we asked were:
What does community mean to you?
Can you name two adults in the school that care about you and think you will be a success?
What are you learning about?
Why is what you are learning important?
