Evidence of caring
In discussions with students and staff over the first two months of the school year there has been a lot of evidence to support our focus of community. When asked what community means to them, some of the statements heard from both adults and children include:
"helping each other"
"working together"
"friendship, being all together"
"caring about everyone"
"at Gilmore we really care about kids"
"respecting the people around you and the community"
These kinds of statements were very common in our survey of students and staff. Given this growth in community awareness and appreciation, Gilmore will scanning the community anew and refocusing our collective work. Stay tuned for new directions!
