Building Relationships/Community Connectedness:Connecting our Gilmore ‘GRIFS’ matrix to the Social Responsibility Core Competency.

We welcomed students back to school in September with a focus on building relationships. In a multi age groups, students read the books, Say Hello and Octicorn. Students worked together to discuss how it feels to make new friends and to be welcomed and greeted by a person you don’t know well. Students designed name tags and completed questionnaires to learn more about children in the school who they didn’t know well. At the end of the week, students reflected on their experiences.
