WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE INVOLVED?

We posed the question before viewing: How might this story represent or show COMMUNITY? WHAT POSITIVE THINGS CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO OUR GILMORE COMMUNITY?

This Activity linked to our School-wide language of GRIFS and the SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CORE COMPETENCY - Contributing to community

The students discussed  the story’s connection to COMMUNITY using the following guiding questions:

• What is community?

• How do you know community exists?

• Can community be a feeling? 

Following the activity, students were asked to do a self-assessment using our GRIFS matrix:  

“I can take responsibility for my part of the Family Teams activity by…”

“I can help other members of my Family Team by…”
